STATEMENT BY DIRECTORS
We, Chew Gek Khim and Yap Chee Keong, being two of the Directors of The Straits Trading Company Limited, do hereby
state that, in the opinion of the Directors:
(i) the accompanying balance sheets, consolidated income statements, consolidated statement of comprehensive income,
consolidated statement of changes in equity and consolidated cash flow statement together with notes thereto are
drawn up so as to give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the Group and of the Company as at 31 December
2011 and the results of the business, changes in equity and cash flows of the Group, for the year ended on that date; and
(ii) at the date of this statement, there are reasonable grounds to believe that the Company will be able to pay its debts
as and when they fall due.
